Having expertise is one thing, but not many accountancy firms can say they have an experienced advisor who started off at Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs. After 10 years becoming a subject matter expert at HMRC, he moved into the world of private practice and has subsequently worked in a range of businesses from small practices to top ten accountancy firms.
The best part of Paul’s job is meeting his Clients, who he loves working with to get the best tax result for them. Trust is Paul’s watchword, and he always strives to ensure his Clients know they can have confidence in him and that he’ll always have their best interests at heart.
What’s your favourite book? The Greatest Game ever played, which is about golf and overcoming adversity.
If you could invite any 3 people to a dinner party, who would it be? I’d pick my dad, who was my hero, Kate Bush and Garth Brooks.
What do you enjoy doing when you are not working? I love golf and singing – in fact, because of the singing I do for charities in and around Chippenham I even seem to have acquired the nickname of The Singing Taxman!
What is your favourite quote to live by? “Winners never quit, and quitters never win”.
Who would you invite onto your talk show? I’d invite Will Smith, Hugh Jackman and Stephen Merchant because they’re all good story tellers.
